Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Growth Marketing Lead to join an early-stage technology company as its first dedicated marketing hire. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for an experienced growth marketer who knows how to take a digital product to market, build an audience, and turn awareness into measurable user growth.
You will own the growth strategy for a recently launched consumer-facing digital product targeting a younger, digitally native audience. Working closely with executive, product, and technical leadership, you will determine how to reach the right users, build organic momentum, optimize the customer journey, and ultimately drive product adoption and subscriptions.
This is not a role for someone who wants to exclusively manage agencies or teams. The right person can operate at both levels: setting the strategy and personally executing against it.
Responsibilities:
- Own the growth marketing strategy and execution for a newly launched consumer digital product.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive user acquisition, signups, product adoption, and subscription growth.
- Build the company's organic growth engine, with an initial emphasis on Reddit and X, while identifying opportunities across additional social and digital channels.
- Develop strategies for reaching and engaging a primarily 18–34-year-old audience.
- Own and optimize the customer funnel from initial awareness through signup, activation, conversion, and ongoing engagement.
- Analyze user behavior and funnel performance to identify opportunities to improve conversion.
- Establish the KPIs, dashboards, and reporting framework used to measure marketing effectiveness and overall growth.
- Translate growth performance into clear insights for executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Test messaging, channels, content, landing pages, and growth initiatives to determine what drives measurable results.
- Partner closely with product and technical leadership to align marketing initiatives with product development and the user experience.
- Identify and manage external partners, agencies, creators, or other resources as needed.
- Build the foundation for a scalable marketing function and help determine future team and resource needs.
- Remain highly hands-on while simultaneously shaping the company's broader growth strategy.
- Approximately 8–12 years of experience across growth marketing, digital marketing, product growth, or related disciplines.
- Meaningful experience working within an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.
- Demonstrated success growing users, subscribers, or customers for a digital product or platform.
- Proven ability to show measurable growth results tied to metrics such as acquisition, signups, activation, conversion, retention, or revenue.
- Strong experience with organic and social growth strategies, ideally including Reddit and X.
- Deep understanding of conversion funnels, user journeys, growth analytics, and performance measurement.
- Experience defining KPIs and building measurement frameworks in environments where significant marketing infrastructure may not already exist.
- Experience bringing new products or offerings to market.
- Ability to move comfortably between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- Strong analytical instincts and the ability to use data to determine where to focus resources.
- Self-starter who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, moving quickly, and building from the ground up.
- Strong communication skills and experience partnering directly with senior executives, product leaders, and technical teams.
- Experience within fintech, investing, financial services, AI, or consumer technology.
- Experience marketing products to Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
- Experience with subscription-based consumer products.
- Experience building or scaling a marketing team after establishing the initial growth strategy.
This is an opportunity to become the first dedicated marketing leader within an early-stage company at an important stage of its growth. You'll have significant ownership over how a newly launched product is positioned, marketed, and scaled, with direct access to executive and technical leadership.
Rather than stepping into an established marketing playbook, you'll have the opportunity to build the playbook; defining the growth strategy, determining the right channels and KPIs, creating the marketing infrastructure, and helping shape the future team.
