Position Overview
WorldStrides is building a new internal AI initiative focused on modernizing business processes through automation, AI, and rapid product development. The AI Product Engineer will work at the intersection of product management, software development, solutions architecture, and business process automation.
This person will partner closely with the VP of AI Product and an AI Software Engineer to identify inefficient or manual processes, lead discovery with business stakeholders, prototype new solutions, test them with users, and turn successful concepts into durable products that can be transitioned to IT.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys 0 1 development, challenging existing processes, building quickly, and solving ambiguous business problems rather than simply executing against predefined technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery with stakeholders to understand business problems, workflows, pain points, and opportunities for automation.
- Challenge existing processes and determine whether they should be automated, redesigned, simplified, or eliminated.
- Build internal applications and workflow automations using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Take solutions through the full lifecycle: discovery prototype pilot iteration production handoff.
- Develop rapid 0 1 prototypes and mature successful concepts into durable, scalable solutions.
- Build integrations between internal systems using APIs, connectors, SQL, and enterprise data sources.
- Incorporate AI and LLM capabilities into business workflows where they provide measurable value.
- Work with MCP servers and AI development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex to connect AI systems with enterprise tools and data.
- Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across multiple business units.
- Measure the impact of solutions through cost savings, time savings, adoption, and operational efficiency.
- Present proposed solutions, prototypes, results, and business cases to senior executives, board-level stakeholders, and other business leaders.
- Document solutions and work with IT/engineering teams to support clean production handoff and ongoing ownership.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated stability/strong tenure.
- Hands-on experience building production workflows in Microsoft Power Automate.
- Experience developing internal applications with Microsoft Power Apps.
- Demonstrated experience with business process/workflow automation.
- Ability to take an ambiguous business problem and independently determine the appropriate technical solution.
- Strong hands-on SQL querying skills.
- Experience integrating applications and systems through APIs and connectors.
- Experience building solutions from scratch rather than exclusively maintaining established systems.
- Strong discovery and business-to-technical translation skills.
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and challenge the status quo constructively.
- Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with approximately 2–3 month product cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/LLMs, including RAG, agents, prompting, evaluations, or AI-assisted development.
- Experience with MCP servers/tool integrations and connecting enterprise systems to Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or similar AI tools.
- Microsoft Dataverse and/or Dynamics 365 experience.
- Azure and Azure DevOps experience.
- Full-stack development experience, particularly React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with relational data modeling and enterprise integrations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, pull requests, observability, secrets management, and enterprise SDLC practices.
- Experience developing POCs and taking products from 0 1 and 1 100.
- Experience quantifying the cost, time, or efficiency gains generated by automation.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
What Success Looks Like
The right person isn't simply a Power Platform developer or an AI engineer. WorldStrides is looking for a product-minded technical builder who can sit with a business team, understand why a process exists, challenge whether it should continue operating that way, and then personally prototype a better solution.
Successful candidates will be comfortable moving between business discovery, Power Apps/Power Automate development, SQL and integrations, AI tooling, user testing, and executive presentations while maintaining a strong bias toward shipping measurable business outcomes.
