Job Description:
Lead accessibility audits and remediation strategy for a large-scale healthcare digital ecosystem, ensuring WCAG compliance and improved user experience.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Conduct automated and manual accessibility audits across web properties
- Identify and triage false positives vs. true accessibility violations
- Perform screen reader testing (JAWS, VoiceOver, etc.) and keyboard navigation analysis
- Evaluate complex UI components for accessibility (ARIA, focus states, forms, modals)
- Collaborate with front-end developers on remediation efforts
- Provide actionable, developer-ready recommendations
- Present findings and guidance to stakeholders and clients
- Build and deliver remediation roadmaps with effort estimates and prioritization
Requirements:
- Must-Haves:
- Strong UX experience with accessibility focus
- Deep expertise in WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and Section 508 compliance
- Hands-on experience with screen readers (JAWS, VoiceOver, etc.)
- Ability to distinguish real issues from false positives in audits
- Experience working with healthcare websites or regulated environments
- Familiarity with accessibility tools (e.g., Silktide, Axe, Deque)
- Ability to read and assess front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience collaborating with developers on remediation
- Ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Accessibility certifications (CPACC, WAS, Trusted Tester)
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore)
- Familiarity with Figma
- Experience in fast-paced, large-scale digital environments
