Job Description:
Senior engineer focused on production hardening of a deployed, stateful web application to ensure reliability, persistence, and launch readiness.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Execute state management remediation across client, canvas, and database layers
- Define clear authority boundaries between document state, session state, and DB truth
- Improve persistence, rehydration, and deterministic behavior across workflows
- Harden save logic, concurrency handling, and failure visibility
- Implement backend launch hardening (RLS, workflows, guardrails)
- Build observability, telemetry, and runtime verification for critical paths
- Collaborate with founder and AI agents to ship and validate changes
- Contribute to testing, documentation, and evidence-based release gates
Requirements:
- Must-Haves:
- Experience building complex, real-time or stateful web applications (e.g., canvas/editors)
- Strong expertise with modern web stack (React, Next.js, PostgreSQL)
- Deep understanding of state management, persistence, and concurrency
- Experience hardening Postgres-backed systems (migrations, RLS, schema integrity)
- Ability to make systems deterministic and resilient under failure conditions
- Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Codex, Claude Code)
- Strong independent execution and systems-thinking mindset
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with canvas-based tools or collaborative applications
- Familiarity with Supabase, Drizzle ORM, Zustand, or similar tools
- Exposure to observability tools and structured logging systems
- Startup or early-stage product experience
