Job Description:
Hands-on Data Engineer responsible for building scalable, reliable, and reusable data pipelines to support analytics and AI/ML data products.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design and develop batch and streaming data pipelines using AWS tools
- Build and optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with architects to implement data models and integrations
- Deliver clean, structured datasets for analytics and machine learning use cases
- Implement data quality checks, validation, and lineage tracking
- Contribute to data governance, cataloging, and schema management
- Partner with cross-functional teams in agile pod environments
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in development
Requirements:
- Must-Haves:
- 7 years of hands-on data engineering experience
- Strong expertise in AWS (Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3)
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark
- Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow or Step Functions)
- Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift)
- Proven ability to build and optimize batch and streaming pipelines
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience supporting AI/ML data products and feature engineering
- Knowledge of data governance (lineage, cataloging, schema management)
- Experience in agile/lean product team environments (PODs)
- Strong mentoring and cross-team collaboration skills
